VOLUNTEER GLOBALLY: BEYOND THE BORDERS COMMUNITY TRUST (BBCTV)

Beyond the Borders Community Trust Volunteers (BBCTV) is the Prophet Reward Foundation’s dedicated program for recruiting, hosting, and organizing international volunteer placements.

We don’t just need “help”—we need Partners in Transformation. PRF is a community-led movement where international volunteers become part of the PRF Family Force, working directly on the local field to bridge the gap where structured systems often fail.

  1. WHO WE SEEK: THE PRF VOLUNTEER SPIRIT

  • Students & Young Professionals: We offer immersive internships and life-changing placements for those passionate about social work, IT, and disaster response.

PRF VOLUNTEER WELCOME HANDBOOK & PREPARATION GUIDE

Congratulations on joining the Prophet Reward Foundation (PRF) Family Force. As an Implementation Partner, you are about to embark on a journey that goes beyond traditional tourism—you are entering the heart of community transformation.

  1. Arrival & Logistics: “The Africa Hosting Experience”
  • Airport Pickup: Our Logistics Director or a designated member of the Steering Committee will meet you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (Nairobi) upon arrival.
  • Safe Passage: You will be transported directly to our volunteer housing or project site.
  • Orientation: Within your first 24 hours, you will receive a “Grassroots Briefing” covering local customs, safety protocols, and a detailed walkthrough of your specific project placement.
  1. Accommodations & Living
  • Home-Stay Experience: To foster true cultural exchange, volunteers typically stay in secure, PRF-vetted community housing or with host families. This allows you to experience traditional Kenyan life firsthand.
  • Meals: You will enjoy local, organic meals (the “Farm-to-Table” experience). We can accommodate vegetarian and specific dietary needs—just let us know in advance!
  • Connectivity: While we work in “interior” marginalized areas, basic mobile data and Wi-Fi are generally accessible in our main hubs for you to keep in touch with home.
  1. What to Pack: The Volunteer Essentials
  • Clothing: Modest, comfortable clothing suitable for physical work (construction/farming) and “smart-casual” attire for school or office placements.
  • Health: Sunscreen, insect repellent, and any personal medications. We recommend consulting your local travel clinic for standard vaccinations before travel.
  • Donation Items (Optional): Many volunteers bring small items like used laptops, school supplies, or sanitary towels to contribute directly to their project.
  1. Safety & The “Zero-Cartel” Guarantee
  • Local Mentorship: You will never work alone. A local PRF Missionary will be your “Shadow Mentor” to ensure your safety and guide you through community interactions.
  • Registration: Your presence is formally recognized by the local authorities through our registration as a Charitable Trust, ensuring you are legally protected during your service.
  1. The Volunteer Code of Conduct

As a representative of PRF and an Implementation Partner, we ask all volunteers to:

  • Respect Local Traditions: Kenya is a land of diverse and rich culture; we listen more than we speak.
  • Maintain a Self-Start Attitude: We value initiative. If you see a way to improve a project, share it with your coordinator!
  • Commit to Transparency: Follow our “Zero-Broker” rules by ensuring all resources and gifts are channeled through official PRF project logs.

FINAL STEP: START YOUR JOURNEY
